Empty Minded

You said that if I wanted what you had, I had to let go of my "old ideas" absolutely. I thought you meant that I should let go of my "bad" ideas absolutely. Why would I want to get rid of all my "good" ideas? What about my ideas about God? What about my ideas about love?

Then you pointed out that my very best ideas got me all alone and unemployed in my darkened apartment with my bag of dope, bottle of wine and remote control. This you said should prove to me that I was unqualified to judge a good idea from a bad idea. It’s better  that I don't hold on to any idea at all, even my ideas about God.

Just as an acorn "knows" how to become an oak tree, there is a certain "knowing" that was born in me. I'm coming to believe that all beliefs and opinions tend to block off this divine wisdom and delay my full experience of the life my Higher Power intended for me. Empty minded is even better than open minded.
